Petroleum prices in Pakistan were increased by the government last night. The price of petrol per litre has risen from 270 rupees to 322 rupees after an increase of 55 rupees, which government says came as the aftermath on ongoing Iran & Israel war. The petroleum price hike is receiving severe public backlash, and celebrities are also condemning it, saying that a sudden increase of around 55 rupees is a major burden on poor people who are barely earning their daily bread and butter. The price hikes in the petroleum saw a major backlash and chaos where people condemed it on social and also got their tanks full one more time.

Sharmila Faruqui, Nabeel Zafar, Khaled Anam, Sana Faysal, and Maya Ali have also raised their voices against the unjust price hikes. Nabeel Zafar said, “The war is in Iran, but petrol prices have increased in Pakistan.” Khaled Anam also strongly criticized the government. He wrote, “Club 47 has increased petrol prices.” Mishi Khan has shared a video petroleum price hike. She said that it’s exactly like a petrol bomb which government exploded on public just before Eid. She says 55 rupees a big amount and now the consumers will also receive fuel adjustment charges in the bills separately.
