The film was officially selected for the UK Asian Film Festival 2026, where it premiered on May 2, and is scheduled for a nationwide release on May 8, 2026. The film portrays the real face of Lyari, especially highlighting young talent.

Recently, Dananeer Mobeen has been in the UK promoting her film Mera Lyari. During a promotional interaction, she addressed comparisons between Mera Lyari and Dhurrander.

Dananeer Mobeen said, “I already told you that it is a disservice to boil this film down in comparison to another movie. The core, the crux of Mera Lyari, is special. We have explored multiple themes, including sports, South Asian women in sports, and female football culture in Lyari. It would be unfair to compare it to any other film or draw parallels. We need to watch the movie from a bird’s-eye view and appreciate the team’s efforts, as it presents a beautiful image of Lyari. It deserves to be watched and appreciated.” Watch here:
