Recently, Usman Peerzada appeared in an interview with Maliha Rehman on her YouTube channel. In the interview, the actor cleared the air regarding the allegations of Dayan being a copy of Khoon Bhari Maang, a Bollywood film starring Rekha. He also clarified the confusion about his character in Dayan.

Talking about it, he said, “There was a misunderstanding. I was not a gynecologist; the hospital had multiple directors, and I was a plastic surgeon. A friend brought his wife to me, and she was checked by a gynecologist. Later, I called my friend to give her reports. In Dayan, I played the role of a plastic surgeon, and I had done a similar character earlier for PTV. It was in the serial Doosri Larki, which aired on PTV and was inspired by the novel Mirror Has Two Faces. Javed and I were the leads, and Talat Hussain played the role I played in Dayan. It was shot with two girls. In the story, a plastic surgeon gives a girl the face of his recently murdered daughter, and she went into a house where people didn’t recognize her. It was after our serial that India made Khoon Bhari Maang. Now people say that Dayan is a copy of Khoon Bhari Maang, but in fact, it was inspired by our PTV drama Doosri Larki.” Here is the link to the video:
