He began his film career as an assistant director at Shahnoor Studios which was owned by Madam Noor Jehan and her husband Shaukat Rizvi. His popular films as writer are Mujhe Chaand Chahye, Zille Shah, Bazaar E Husn, Salakhain, Aasman, Qaid and others. His film Bazaar E Husn was copied in India. His film Qaid was also copied in India. He has written multiple popular stage dramas as well. His stage drama Janam Janam ki maili Chadar was played in the theatres for consecutive 7 years. He also wrote multiple dramas for Humayun Saeed including Baaghi and Dooriyan.

Talking about Danish Taimoor, Pervez Kalim said, “Danish Taimoor was unlucky that he didn’t want to work with Iqbal Kashmiri. He thinks that he is Rock Hudson of Pakistan, he was sitting at his house on a hanging swing and his legs were towards me, for God sake, I am an older man, at least show some respect.
