Farooq Sattar is a senior Pakistani politician and social worker who hails from the city of Karachi. He is one of the highly educated politicians and holds an MBBS degree; however, he did not practice as a doctor. Farooq Sattar became the Mayor of Karachi in 1987. He is known for his friendly personality and often appears on television shows and in interviews, where he talks about his personal and political life. The senior MQM politician is married twice and has one wife in Karachi and the other in Islamabad.
Recently, Farooq Sattar appeared on 365 News’ Ramzan transmission, hosted by Nadia Khan and Zohaib Hassan, where he spoke about his two marriages and also advised men regarding multiple marriages.
While sharing his views on multiple marriages, Dr. Farooq Sattar said, “It takes courage to have two wives, and this courage only belongs to someone who is serving in MQM. I would not recommend any man to go for a second marriage if he is happily married to his first wife. However, if you are asking for a general opinion, I would not give any advice to anyone because it is a personal choice. My second marriage was my personal decision; I neither endorsed it nor advised anyone to follow it. If someone falls in love, he should look for a bigger purpose to avoid a second marriage.”
On another occasion, host Zohaib Hassan revealed live on the show that Dr Farooq Sattar has two wives, to which he jokingly replied that whenever his situation is good, Zohaib mentions his two marriages. He shared that Shahida is an environmentalist and lives in Islamabad, while his other wife resides in Karachi. He also jokingly said that he often tells them he has the option of keeping one in Lahore as well.
