Dr. Nabiha Ali Khan is a renowned Pakistani psychologist, motivational speaker and social media celebrity known for her blunt views and viral interviews. She recently made headlines after her Nikah with colleague Haris Khokhar which was held at Maulana Tariq Jamil’s residence. Soon after Nikah, she started giving back to back interviews to electronic and digital media platforms.
Recently, Dr Nabiha Ali Khan appeared in Neo News’ morning show hosted by Hina Salman. In the show, she responded to criticism on her Nikah in detail.
Talking about haters’ unnecessary criticism, Dr Nabiha Ali Khan said, “I don’t feel it’s necessary to respond to such pointless people, and I feel it would be an insult to my words if I would reply to them. Whether we make videos or not, it’s none of your business. It has become Pakistani people’s job to criticize others. We had a wedding, why are you concerned where it held, what we wore, what was the price of the outfits—these are all envious and hypocritical people who have nothing else to do in life . A jealous person has no standards; they always speak from a lower place. First of all, I am a motivational speaker, a psychologist. I am not a religious scholar. I follow the teachings of Allah but I am not perfect but that doesn’t mean I can’t be happy or do celebrations”.
Talking about criticism on Nikah video, her husband said, “my paternal grandparents (dada and dadi) and maternal grandfather (nana) have passed away and I only have maternal grandmother (Nani) with me, who recently had an operation due to which she could not attend my Nikah. She repeatedly asked me to show Nikah ceremony because Maulana Tariq Jamil was solemnizing it and he was also her favorite, also, she had a great desire to witness the event. We come from a traditional family who highly respect our elders, and fulfilling her wish was important for me but unfortunately people started trolling me on this.”
Talking about the criticism of marrying someone like a brother, Dr Nabiha Ali Khan said, “There is a video circulating on social media where someone is saying that she married her brother, how can even this marriage happened? Lete tell you, He was never my brother You shouldn’t make such statements about others. He is neither my cousin nor any of my relative, yet you are calling him my brother.” Her husband also said that she is Khan and he is Khokhar. So, their families are different from ours. Dr Nabiha Ali Khan further added that before Nikah, everyone is considered as a brother, and I never have wrong thoughts about anyone. Talking about criticism on marrying brother Dr Nabiha said that she never ever called him brother and people are just doing unnecessary criticism. Another thing is, the negative people you see are all from our own community whom we are not . They also added that YouTubers and content creators are criticizing them and earning money and they will soon take legal action against them.”
