Durefishan Saleem is a remarkable Pakistani tv actress known for her hit dramas including Dilruba, Bharras, Khaie, Kaisi Teri Khudgharzi, Jaisay Aapki Marzi, Ishq Murshid, Pardes, and others. She will soon be seen in Geo TV’s upcoming drama series Sanwal Yaar Piya alongside Feroze Khan and Ahmed Ali Akbar, which is currently being shot in Karachi.
Recently, Durefishan Saleem appeared on Something Haute’s Haute Talk, where she admitted that her first drama glorified a toxic hero.
Responding to Amna Isani’s remark, “But your drama series Kaisi Teri Khudgharzi did glorify a toxic male lead!” Durefishan Saleem said,
“It did romanticize toxicity. That was a script issue. The good thing was that he was changing himself—the girl wasn’t changing him. I believe a person should change for themselves, and I liked that. Nobody is perfect; normal people are flawed. There are red flags and green flags, and I agree it wasn’t that great a drama. The script had loopholes. But now, I have a say. Now I speak up when a character doesn’t resonate with me.”
Danish Taimoor’s fans were furious over Durefishan Saleem’s negative statement about Kaisi Teri Khudgharzi which turned her an overnight hit actor. One fan wrote, “What about the script of Ishq Murshid? Which father allows a stranger to live in his house with his daughters?” Another commented, “Look at how shameless this Dure aunty is.”Someone else added, “She’s just trying to please feminist aunties.” A fan said, “Danish Taimoor has terrible taste in heroines. He makes bad girls famous, and now she’s showing her class by criticizing the script. Ahmed Ali Butt even admitted at an award show that she got famous because of Kaisi Teri Khudgharzi.” Another wrote, “If shameless had a face… She got fame because of Danish Taimoor and Kaisi Teri Khudgharzi. How ungrateful she is!” One viewer remarked, “Her drama with Feroze Khan is coming up. Let’s see how much success she gains now.” Read the comments:
