Feroze Khan is hands down one of Pakistan’s most followed stars. He has been active in the industry since the early 2010s and has produced multiple dramas that have reached over a billion views. The actor is among the A-listers of the drama industry, and he remains in the news not just for his dramas but also for the controversies in his personal life.
Feroze Khan has previously stated that all the major scripts in the Pakistani drama industry are reviewed by him first. He gets offered those dramas before they go to anyone else. But has he truly shown his potential in acting, or does he consistently churn out the same character with different names, crossing a benchmark of views every time? This is a question many of Feroze’s fans have also asked. Let’s take a look at the controversial star’s career to discern if he is overrated or actually talented.

Feroze Khan – The Beginning:

Feroze Khan is the brother of actress Humaima Malik. Humaima made a name for herself, not just in films but dramas too, before her brother joined acting. The starlet introduced her brother in style, and she has always been his biggest supporter throughout his acting career. Feroze Khan came into the industry as a VJ and later made his acting debut with dramas like Bikhra Mera Naseeb and Chup Raho. He was noticed in his very first projects, and fans were rooting for his rise as a superstar in the future.
Gul e Rana: Rise Of The Toxic Hero

Feroze Khan became a sensation the very next year of his acting debut when he signed for Hum TV’s Gul e Rana. Way before Sajal-Ahad fandom, there used to be a Sajal-Feroze fandom. The two stars were rumoured to be in a relationship when Gul e Rana started airing. This was the very first time that Feroze Khan featured in the role of a toxic hero, a character that later became his signature identity. The actor lived the character who was imprisoning and emotionally abusing the female lead. Fans loved him and, till the very end, wanted the heroine to end up with his character. This drama not only brought recognition to Feroze but also established him as one of the most promising faces of the new industry.
Khaani: Embracing The Toxic Hero Identity

Feroze Khan played the role of Mir Hadi in the drama Khaani, which catapulted him to superstardom. Although the character was toxic, abusive, and a murderer, fans were captivated by the charisma and style with which he was portrayed on screen. The show became a cult classic, and viewers still enjoy rewatching it and listening to its original soundtrack (OST). This drama also marked the beginning of Feroze Khan’s bad-boy image off-screen. The lines began to blur between the actor and the characters he portrayed, leading some fans to perceive him as a real-life Mir Hadi (minus the murder) because of how he presented himself.
Feroze Khan: Multiple Characters, Same Traits

The nonchalant hero, who is wealthy and indifferent to others’ emotions, often exhibits toxic traits and, at times, simply lacks emotional expressiveness. This character has been portrayed by Feroze Khan in a series of successful dramas, including Ishqiya, Aye Musht e Khaak, Habs, and the recently concluded Humraaz. In each of these shows, Feroze Khan has presented different versions of the same character.
Toxic Characters Overlapping With Real Life

One significant issue that affected Feroze Khan’s career was the way his personal life and relationships began to overshadow his work. His rumored breakup with Sajal Aly, coupled with a very public and contentious divorce from Syeza Aliza Sultan, led many to believe he was merely portraying himself in the roles he took on. As a result, viewers felt that he lacked acting range and was unable to separate his on-screen characters from his real-life persona.
Additionally, his conflicts with colleagues following his first marriage and allegations of domestic abuse contributed to this perception. Recently, his social media has once again come under scrutiny due to claims of being hacked, with specific allegations about his current wife, Zainab Feroze, being circulated. All these incidents have further solidified the public’s view of him as the same troubled individual he portrays on screen.
Not Experimenting With Characters

In the past few years, the only time Feroze Khan experimented with his character was in Akhara. He finally played a rural boy and trained himself to look like a fighter. The hard work paid off for him, and it showed how his fans would love to see him in a different role. But he is still playing very similar characters in dramas like Main Zameen Tu Aasman and Sanwal Yaar Piya.
Feroze Khan: Overrated Or Actually Talented

Feroze Khan’s filmography suggests that he is often overrated as an actor. While he undoubtedly has talent, there is a need for him to experiment more with his roles. In his latest film, Sanwal Yaar Piya, where he stars alongside Ahmad Ali Akbar, viewers can more easily discern between skillful and mediocre acting. Khan should consider stepping out of his comfort zone; the portrayal of the angry young college boy has become repetitive. To avoid being labeled as overrated, he needs to reinvent himself and take on more diverse characters.
The actor needs to stop posting about his personal life with his mother and sisters. He should also limit comments about his ex-wife or current wife. The focus should be on his work, rather than trying to resemble a real-life Mir Hadi.
