Writer of Kabli Pulao Zafar Mairaj managed to give the world a beautiful story and he talked about it in detail in an interview with Fuchsia.
He touched upon how he conceived the story, how it moved forward and he is thankful to the audience who accepted it and made it this big. He also answered the question regarding controversy that raised its head regarding religious point of view. Many people pointed out that in the situation Barbeena was in, her Nikkah with the second husband becomes void after her first husband returns. Therefore, many people were questioning the ending as how Barbeena went with Haji Mushtaq.
Zafar Mairaj shared his point of view. He said that there are three individuals in this situation. And yes, Shariah rules will apply if a conflict had arisen and Baraan would have wanted to take Barbeena back. But there was never a fight, Barbeena wanted Haji sahab while Baraan was not there to take her with him and this simplified the situation. This is why he did not go towards the Islamic law as it would apply if there was a conflict.
