Geo News is one of the biggest news channels in the country. It was among the pioneer of private media back in the early 2000s. People started watching it and they found a whole new avenue to receive their news in addition to the traditional PTV News. The channel has seen many ups and downs in its run.
Safar e Ishq was recently a program which aired on Geo News for Muharram. The documentary caused controversy as it showed the silohuette of Holy personalities.
Geo News is now facing legal action from PEMRA for airing sensitive material. The channel’s license has been cancelled for 15 days by PEMRA for airing these sensitive visuals.
