Hamza Ali Abbasi and Maya Ali will be playing the lead roles in HUM TV’s upcoming drama serial Dil-e-Janam which was previously titled Tera Ghum Aur Hum. The play has been written by Samira Fazal and directed by Haseeb Hassan who was behind HUM’s recent hit serial Diyar-e-Dil. This drama is also much anticipated by the people because it marks the comeback of Hamza Ali Abbasi after he won a lot of admiration from people for his performance in super hit drama serial Pyare Afzal.
Hamza Ali Abbasi and Maya Ali in separate interviews talked about the overall experience of working together. They told a little bit about the main plot and their characters while talking to Dawn News. Maya Ali hopes that her on-screen couple with Hamza Ali Abbasi will be as big a hit as her recent on-screen chemistry with Osman Khalid Butt. She said,
“I know Osman will kill me for saying this, but Hamza is very comfortable to work with, so you automatically give a good performance. I was too nervous to look at him straight in the eye, but he always insisted that I do. I feel that people will like our performance together.”
Talking about whether Salahuddin (Hamza’s character in Dil-e-Janam) and Haya (Maya’s character in Dil-e-Janam) will make the same place in people’s hearts Wali and Farah did, she said,
“Just like hashtags such as #Osmaya (Osman and Maya combined) and #Wafa (their characters Wali and Farah combined) are established, I now hear of #Sanu (Salauddhin and Manu) and #Haya (Hamza and Maya). That’s a good sign, right?”
Talking about his character in the drama Hamza Ali Abbasi said something that will interest his fans a lot. He said,
“The character I play is very close to who I actually am, so that’s nice….I would describe it as a sweet and nice love story, like most of our dramas. It is something I personally experienced too, which makes it special for me.”
Although Hamza Ali Abbasi wants to do more films in the future but he thinks doing work on television is very important. He said,
“Our first strength has always been TV. I am what I am because of TV. If we drift away from TV entirely TV will sink. So actors who are making films, that’s great, but they need to do at least one TV serial a year. Even Humuyun Saeed is appearing with Mehwish Hayat in a TV serial with that intention.”
