Iffat Omar is a former Pakistani model, host, and television actor. She began her showbiz career as a model but also earned immense praise for her remarkable acting skills. Her claim-to-fame projects include Nangay Paaon, Ghulam Gardish, Mohabbat Aag Si, Aye Musht-e-Khaak, and Aangan. Iffat Omar has now taken a break from acting due to the poor characterization and regressive scriptwriting in current dramas. She often speaks out against shows that go against feminist ideology.

While Main Manto Nahi Hoon was already making headlines for its controversial student–teacher romance, Iffat Omar recently pointed out a particular scene from the drama on her X (Twitter) account, where students are shown protesting for Manto–Mehmal Nikah at a university.

Expressing her disagreement, Iffat Omar wrote: “Imagine our country’s topmost actor, actress, writer, and director behind this. This is the best of Pakistan.”

Watch the scene criticized by her:
Social media users have shared mixed reactions to her statement. Many agreed to her and criticized the actors for being part of such a ridiculous script, while others defended it, saying “it’s just a drama.” Some even cited real-life examples of student–teacher marriages, whereas a few called out Iffat Omar for previously working in the regressive drama Aye Musht-e-Khaak with Feroze Khan which showed multiple objectionable sequences.
