Now, Imran Ashraf and Zoha Toqeer are set to share the screen for the first time in an upcoming GEO TV drama series. Written by Imran Ashraf himself, the project also features him in the lead role. The shooting of the drama is currently underway. It has been produced by 7th Sky Entertainment, the series is being directed by Ahmed Bhatti. Jang E Ishq is the tentative title of the drama series.
Social media users are criticizing the casting choices for the upcoming drama. One user commented that Zoha Toqeer looks like a child next to Imran Ashraf, who is playing the lead role opposite her. Another questioned Geo TV’s decision, asking, “What is wrong with Geo TV? Now they are casting an aged male lead alongside a 20-year-old girl, just like Hum TV.” A third commenter asked, “Is he playing Zoha Toqeer’s father?” Viewers also expressed disappointment with the drama’s title, Jung e Ishq, pointing out that Pakistani dramas overuse the word “Ishq.” Many feel the main pairing looks off and that Zoha Toqeer would look much better paired with an actor closer to her own age.
