The tragic Pahalgam incident is currently making headlines across social media. On April 22, 2025, unidentified gunmen opened fire on a group of tourists in Srinagar, located in Indian-occupied Kashmir. The attack resulted in the deaths of 26 individuals, including a groom on his honeymoon and a businessman on vacation. Several others were injured, with many reported to be in critical condition.
Pakistani celebrities such as Farhan Saeed, Hania Aamir, Mawra Hocane, and others have expressed their grief over the tragic incident. However, on the other side, Indians are blaming Pakistan for the attack. In response, they are calling for the cancellation of treaties with Pakistan and demanding a ban on Pakistani actors—most notably Fawad Khan, whose film Abir Gulaal is set to release in India soon.
A well-known Indian entertainment news portal and YouTube channel, Zoom, has posted a video compiling comments from extremist Indians, where they express hateful sentiments toward Pakistani actors. According to the video, the Indians are demanding a ban on Fawad Khan. An Indian user wrote, “Abir Gulaal will not be allowed to release in India in any case after this”. Another wrote, “Are we still going to release Abir Gulaal after Pahalgam incident, will we still make such films with Pakistani actors?”. Here is the link to the video:
All the extreamist Indians are posting hate comments on Fawad Khan, Bollywood and Vaani Kapoor under the video posted by Zoom TV. Many are saying that Bollywood should be boycotted for promoting Pakistani actor Fawad Khan’s movie Abir Gulaal. A few are bashing his co-star Vaani Kapoor for working with him.
It is pertinent to mention that many Indians were against Fawad Khan’s comeback and were demanding the boycott of the film in India even before Pahalgam attack. Previously, the same kind of incident happened in 2016 when Fawad Khan’s film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil was about to release. Now, Fawad Khan’s fans in India witnessed another similar kind of incident before the release of his film Abir Gulaal.
