Irrfan Khan was born in Rajasthan into a Muslim family of Pathan ancestry. His mother Saeeda Begum belonged to Jodhpur and his father Yaseen Ali Khan was from the Khajuriya village in Rajasthan’s Tonk district.
The legendary actor spent his childhood in Tonk, and then in Jaipur. In an old video, he showed his hometown and shared his childhood memories.
He shared, “We left everything and came to Jaipur and we started a tyre business.”
Talking about his siblings, he shared, “I have an elder sister and two younger brothers. In this house, my sister got married, my father died and here I saw the dream of becoming an actor.”
Irrfan Khan was close to his mother and shared, “I always wanted to get closer to my mother and it was my wish to please my mother. I wanted her approval and for this thing, I kept looking for my whole life.”
He shared his childhood memory and said, “We used to wear the same clothes and got the same haircuts.”
Irrfan Khan was close to his maternal grandmother and said, “My nani taught me a lot of things and in every dispute, she could see my point of view. She is no more and I miss her a lot.”
