Bas Tera Saath Ho is a new drama which just started airing on ARY Digital. It is written by Mere Humsafar writer Saira Raza and became her last project before she passed away. The whole team is the same and after teasers came out, people were reminded of Mere Humsafar and the magical story of Hamza and Hala. The roles seemed to reversed this time as the boy is playing damsel now.
The new show has many similarities. Bas Tera Saath Ho has Farhan Saeed playing the character of Hala while this time around Sana Javed is playing a character similar to Hamza. Now, Zoya Nasir who is a part of both these projects has clarified that this new show is the second part of Mere Humsafar or not.
Zoya Nasir said that this was the primary idea that Bas Tera Saath Ho will be an extension of Mere Humsafar universe. Saira Raza wanted to take the similar situation and build on it. It was supposed to be a new take on the story. So in that sense it can be termed a part 2 but as the story progressed, it goes in a completely different direction and thus it is a completely new drama. Saira Raza just wanted the team making this show to remain unchanged.
