Ismat Zaidi is a veteran actress of the Pakistani drama industry. She has been working for years and she has done some really great projects in her long career and she is still doing good dramas. She was a guest on Ghazal Siddique’s podcast and shared what needs to change in the industry in order to make it more positive.
She talked about how artists are not correctly paid till date. She added that there should be a criteria on what an artist with so much experience deserves. She added that many times the production is paying so much money to an actor who may have started 2 years ago and ignore the rights of senior artists. Ismat said that she has had these bad experiences in the productions of actors who should have known better.

She also spoke about some bad experiences with new directors. She said that she worked with a director who was so rude that he made her cry. She even considered leaving acting after that experience. Ismat Zaidi impressed upon directors to be nice to the artists as it is not a difficult thing to do.
