Jama Taqseem is a popular Pakistani prime-time drama currently airing on Hum TV. It is being praised by both Pakistani and international audiences for its strong relatability. The leading cast includes Talha Chahour and Mawra Hocane. The story revolves around the complexities of the joint family system. Jama Taqseem is written by Sarwat Nazir, directed by Ali Hassan, and presented by MD Productions.

This week’s episode shows Zeeshan harassing his cousin Sidra at their house when they were alone. He is caught by his uncle, Qais (Chachu), who then sends him to a hostel, where Zeeshan himself faces torture and harassment as Karma.

Recently, writer Sarwat Nazir appeared in Nadia Khan’s morning show Rise and Shine. In the show, she opened up about Zeeshan’s punishment in the drama Jama Taqseem.

Talking about it, she said, “Many people said it’s not the right solution, but sometimes we have to show karma. I have kept it simple and shown it simply. I portrayed a real family reaction when Zeeshan was caught. It is a humble effort on my part — if even one family learns something from it, that would be my achievement.”
Talking about the family’s way of handling the issue, Sarwat Nazir added, “It is a traditional family, and for them, the only solution is to get the two people involved in the harassment engaged. But I can’t reveal much — you’ll see it yourself.”
She further said, “You must have seen many dramas about joint families, and most of them show a positive narrative. I know there are advantages to living in a joint family, but the disadvantages are rarely highlighted. One major issue is harassment between cousins — this often happens because mothers are too busy, and although everything happens under one roof, the family remains unaware.”
