Afzal Khan, also known as Jan Rambo, is a versatile and popular Pakistani TV and film actor who has enjoyed timeless stardom and success. He rose to overnight fame in the early nineties as Jan Rambo through the PTV drama Guest House. He further flourished as a film actor and delivered one hit after another. His successful TV comeback projects include Baby Baji Ki Bahuwain, Mufaad Parast, Pagal Khana, and Aas Paas. Rambo’s son, Ahsan Afzal Khan, has also pursued a career in acting and has recently garnered praise for Sharpasand.

Jan Rambo, in his podcast with Rehan Tariq, talked about nepotism in the industry. He also opened up about his son’s acting career.

Talking about it, Rehan Tariq said, “There is no reference system in the industry. All the actors’ children who are acting are barely surviving. They have worked with so much difficulty. No one is watching their struggles; it is difficult for actors’ children to enter the industry. My son did one project, and after two years he got another. That drama was also not referred to him through me. I was working in the drama when the director called and expressed her wish to cast my son because she had already spotted him on social media. They especially changed the role for him; he did a great job in it and was praised by Usman Peerzada, Kashif Mehmood, Waseem Abbas, and Imran Ashraf. Initially, he was not perfect. No one gave him work for a year after that. I introduced him to my media friends. Even after introducing him to production houses, he didn’t get any call. He then shifted to Karachi and started visiting production houses for work. They give work by their own choice; it’s a difficult field.” Watch here:
