Javed Akhtar is an Indian poet and writer. He is loved by millions for the content that he has put out over five decades. He has also appeared in many literary festivals in Pakistan over the years. A huge controversy happened while he visited Faiz festival in Pakistan and threw shade at the host country. He has since been giving many problematic statements against Islam and towing the Hindutva line. He appeared in a debate about existence of God on The Lallantop Show and it became a sight.
Javed Akhtar debated with Islamic scholar Mufti Shamail Nadwi on the existence of God. In a two hour long debate, the two gave their arguments with Javed Akhtar negating the presence of God and Mufti supporting the presence of God. The debate remained fierce yet respectful and Mufti Shamail was able to overpower Javed Akhtar’s arguments.
