To the host’s question, “Raaja Rani is facing backlash from Nadia Khan, who criticized Faysal Quraishi’s character and claimed he used makeup. What are your thoughts ?” Javed Sheikh replied, “No! He hasn’t done any makeup — I’ve worked with him. There is nothing like that. In my opinion, criticism for the sake of criticism has no standing. Respect and fame are given by Allah — if Allah wants to give them to someone, no one can take them away. Recently, a doctor in Lahore criticized Love Guru. He spewed venom against the film, Mahira Khan, and Humayun Saeed, even making ageist remarks. But what happened to his unfair criticism? The film has crossed 60 million. Later, I found out he had personal grudges against the director. Where is that doctor now? Similarly, Raaja Rani is his (Faysal’s) project — let Nadia Khan say whatever she wants. The biggest critics are the viewers. They are the ones who truly pass or fail a project. These TV reviewers who mock actors make no real difference. Ironically, the channels they appear on earn and run through content based on mocking those same actors.”
