Javeria Saud is hosting a Ramadan transmission this year on Express TV. She has been inviting prominent personalities from the fields of music, acting and sports. Sarfaraz Ahmed, the former captain of Pakistan Cricket Team was a guest on her show and spoke about his religious spirit, getting sidelined from sports and navigating criticism.
The show also receives calls from fans. A man called during the live show and asked a question regarding Sarfaraz Ahmed’s command of the English language. He asked that he has observed how the cricketer gets flustered when he has to speak in English and does he find it difficult than the match itself.
Javeria Saud took on the question and said that she has never seen people from other countries shame others about not speaking English. They take pride in their own language. Thus speaking in English is not a sign of superiority or excellence. We should take pride in speaking Urdu which we do not speak fluently either. She also advised people to respect their heroes.
