Dr Omer Adil spoke against Humayun Saeed and Mahira Khan starrer Love Guru. He watched the film and he felt they both looked too old for their characters and they should have avoided starring in a young age love story. He did not mince his words and he was very harsh on everyone involved in that film. He bluntly criticized the writing, direction and actors in that movie.

This review brought on a lot of criticism on Dr Omer Adil for his ageist and inappropriate remarks. Social media was against the words that he used against both Humayun Saeed and Mahira Khan.
Jia Ali is now standing up for Dr Omer Adil and she defended him against the criticism that he got for his review. Jia Ali said that we should listen to criticism especially from Dr Omer Adil as he is very knowledgeable about films. His thoughts should be listened to and we can improve ourselves. She added that she has not seen Love Guru but she thinks that people will not troll you if you will play age appropriate roles. She added that love stories of mature people should be written where you can play the leads as people of all ages have love stories. She quoted herself that she got married at a later age and she has a beautiful love story with her husband which can be turned into a film.
