Junaid Safdar’s wedding to Shanzay Ali Rohail was a viral affair last week that took the internet by storm. Netizens discussed the styling, outfits, and other viral moments. Shanzay Ali Rohail’s wedding and mehndi dresses, in particular, sparked debate as they were designed by Indian designers. Her mehndi outfit was reportedly by Sabyasachi Mukherjee, while her baraat saree was by Tarun Tahiliani. Fans even checked the websites of Indian designers and estimated the prices of her dresses.

Recently, Junaid Safdar’s father-in-law and Shanzay Ali Rohail’s grandfather opened up about the criticism surrounding her wedding dresses.

Talking about it, Rohail Asghar said, “Why are people upset about the money spent on our wedding? I did whatever was within my stature. Did I take anything from them? People who criticize don’t know the reality. They are criticizing the fact that the wedding dresses were by Indian designers, but they don’t know that Shanzay’s aunt (phupo), my younger daughter, is one of the biggest dress designers in Pakistan, and many people get their dresses made by her. I feel pity for these sick minds, and I have no idea why people discuss such things. They should stop doing this, because tomorrow it will come back to them.” Watch here:
