Khalil ur Rehman Qamar is seasoned Pakistani drama writer and poet who is admired for his powerful storytelling and memorable dialogues. His most watched dramas are Pyarey Afzal, Sadqay Tumhare, Meray Paas Tum Ho, Mera Naam Yousuf Hai, Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hai, Zara Yaad Kar, Landa Bazar, Sunn Mere Dil, Bunty I Love You and Laal Ishq. Nowadays, his latest drama, Main Manto Nahi Hoon is also garnering huge praise and Trps.
Khalil ur Rehman Qamar recently made an appearance in journalist Ambreen Fatima’s YouTube channel where he opened up about the unnecessary criticism on all his projects by a few names including Nadia Khan, Marina Khan and Atiqa Odho.
Talking about Nadia Khan, he said, “Nadia Khan is not even related to acting. She knows neither Urdu nor English. I have never even thought about working with her. Yes, I have thought about working with Atiqa and Marina. I wish I could work with them. They are a little weak in Urdu, which is true. Here in Pakistan, we make dramas in pure Urdu, so actors have no choice but to learn it.”
Talking about Marina Khan and Atiqa Odho, he said, “I have never worked with them, so their criticism of me is justified. Insha’Allah, I will work with them when they learn Urdu. They are senior actors who have worked for years. I have seen one drama of Marina Khan and one drama of Atiqa Odho. The name of Atiqa’s drama was either Dasht or Nijat, the one about child labour. I have also watched Tanhaiyan and Dhoop Kinare of Marina Khan. After that, I didn’t watch any of their dramas. I wish that one day they will be okay with me.”
