Khalil ur Rehman Qamar is a senior Pakistani writer and producer admired for his unique storytelling. His notable dramas include Mere Paas Tum Ho, Boota from Toba Tek Singh, Sadqay Tumhare, Landa Bazar, Bunty I Love You, Man Jali, Mera Naam Yousaf Hai, Main Mar Gai Shaukat Ali, Mohabbat Tum Se Nafrat Hai, Zara Yaad Kar, Pyare Afzal, and Sunn Mere Dil. His recent drama Main Manto Nahi Hoon has also gained widespread praise.
Recently, Khalil ur Rehman Qamar gave an interview to Dr. Areej Zulfiqar, in which he revealed that he was not very attached to his mother.
Talking about it, Khalil ur Rehman Qamar said, “I remember a beautiful gesture of my mother for me. I was fond of eating goat’s liver on Eid ul Adha, but since we were middle class, it was cooked only occasionally. Once, we sacrificed a goat, but its liver was stale, so I couldn’t eat it. My mother then arranged another goat just so I could have fresh liver. Other than that, I was more attached to my father because my mother used to complain about me to him. I was an outstanding student and started getting published in newspapers at the age of 12, but my father was against it. I was beaten many times because of my writings, and my mother was the one who informed him about it. I couldn’t develop a strong attachment to her because ehen I was just fifteen, she was diagnosed with cancer and couldn’t recover. She passed away when I was eighteen. I couldn’t serve her well. When your parents are alive, you think they will never leave, but when they do, you realize your loss. I don’t have many memories of my mother, unlike others; I have more memories with my father.” Watch here:
