Talking about it, Khalil ur Rehman Qamar said, “I also heard about Maya Ali when they were doing casting of Mehmal in Main Manto Nahi Hoon but we ended up casting Sajal Aly because she is a great actor and about Mehwish Hayat , she was never a choice for this role because Sajal looks like a student that why we cast her, and this was the reason why we shifted from Maya to Sajal because we needed someone to fit in a student’s role.
