Komal Aziz Khan is a multi-talented Pakistani actress and a successful young entrepreneur. She boasts a strong social media following of 1.6 million. Komal’s notable dramas include Mohlat, Raaz-e-Ulfat, Bharosa Pyar Tera, Kasa-e-Dil, Zard Zamano Ka Sawera, Bisaat-e-Dil and others. She is also running her clothing brand Omal by Komal.
Recently, Komal Aziz appeared in Ahmed Ali Butt’s podcast where she opened up about leaving the showbiz industry.
Talking about why she left showbiz, Komal Aziz said, “Honestly, the showbiz environment isn’t good for an educated person. The working hours are inhumane. I don’t find payment issues to be a problem, but I had problems with the environment. I had heard it’s toxic and unsafe for women, but it wasn’t exactly like that but I only wanted to be dealing with highly educated people. The environment was safe but not clean. Your mental health suffers. There were no clean washrooms, nothing proper to eat, and the politics in showbiz is very bitter, which I don’t want to deal with. It’s a low-class politics. I had to play bigger politics like I started my business and parted ways. It’s okay, producers too work from me, got rating, I also used them. Now, I do my business, you do yours. I haven’t made friends in this industry.”
She further added, “The showbiz industry is a very commercial world. Very few actors are genuine; most people are here for glitz and glamour. It is very colorful, which only attracts narcissists. It’s all about praising one another, and people get used to such praise and narcissism. I can’t deal with such scenarios.”
Talking further about it, Komal Aziz said, “I left the showbiz industry quietly. I didn’t share sad posts on Instagram, sitting in a blurred background saying I am leaving the showbiz industry so that people notice. I left it without creating drama.”
She also added that she had received a threat from industry seniors who told her that the showbiz industry is a trap. According to them, once a person enters showbiz, he can’t leave. But it’s been four years since she left showbiz, and she has no plans to make a comeback.
