Dr Bahu was a drama which gained a lot of love and appreciation from fans for its changed theme. It touched upon topics of infidelity, control over women’s choices and narcissism in relationships. However, the ending of the show was not loved as people felt it was incomplete. Mehreen Jabbar, the director has spoken about it in her latest interview.
The ending of Dr Bahu was extremely rushed with many loose ends. The actors themselves also felt the same way and the team wanted to add something special in the end for all the fans. They wanted to shoot an alternate ending. Minna was left out, Shahnawaz did not go to jail and even Sania’s career choices were left in limbo.
Kubra Khan, Shuja Asad, Mehreen Jabbar and the writer wanted to write extra scenes and add them in the final episode. They were even ready to shoot them on a phone camera. Hajra’s character was supposed to be happy in her life. Kubra would go back to work and Shahnawaz lost everything. But the schedules did not align and thus they were not able to shoot it.
