Laadli is a Hum TV drama series that airs daily at 7:00 PM. The story revolves around a toxic daughter, Laadli, who manipulates the lives of her family. She is the apple of her brothers’ eyes and her father’s undeniable favourite. Written by Seema Sheikh and directed by Irfan Aslam, the drama is a joint presentation of Gold Bridge Media and MD Productions. So far, Hum TV has aired 33 episodes of Laadli. In the drama, Mariam’s miseries seem never-ending as her husband keeps disrespecting her in front of his family and Mariam’s brother Perwaiz. His family, including Naazo, continues to treat her cruelly. Despite facing cold and harsh behaviour, Mariam shows no resistance and still loves her husband and doesn’t go with her brother.
Viewers of Laadli are angry at Mariam’s character for lacking self-respect. One fan wrote, “I hate Mariam’s character more than Nazo; she has no self-respect.” Another commented, “How much this stupid girl is fond of her husband and his house. She is not ready to leave such a toxic person.” A third viewer added, “What exactly are the drama writers trying to show? There is a limit to tolerating injustices.
