The star cast was strong and supreme while the writer and director showed up with solid work. But the drama is derailing the way Khalil ur Rehman Qamar’s two last shows, Sunn Mere Dil and Gentleman derailed. The main plot is all about Manto and Mehmal now and people hate those two characters the most.
Main Manto Nahi Hoon is all about a teacher-student romance now and no one can understand why did they fall in love. They look misfit with Manto looking irrelevant in the overall story while Mehmal being the most desperate woman to ever exist. A very good story in the beginning has now converted into a substandard plot with unnecessary sensationalism.
