Maria B is one of Pakistan’s finest and most famous fashion designers. She has also established herself as a successful businesswoman and a renowned social activist. Lately, she is in the news after she was targeted by Aurat March Lahore’s organizers. According to the details, a special protest was organized in February against the designer.
On February 12, Aurat March took place in Lahore on Pakistan’s National Women’s Day. The Aurat March protestors marched from the Press Club to the Faletti’s Hotel. Recently, Maria B responded to the Aurat March Lahore. Talking about it she said, “We have already rejected the Aurat March, Qaum e Lout March, Unsuccessful women march, what else can I say about it. I have seen all your placards against me and Mishi Khan. We can only question your upbringing through such acts. The public of Pakistan has rejected this so called Aurat March. We know Pakistani women want to live their life according to Islamic teachings, they want to be independent and successful for their family. They want to become their family’s strength. They don’t want to be like you who are unsuccessful fashion designers, unsuccessful make-up artists and Aurat March activists. I know you are living on the funding.
