Ishq Murshid was the biggest hit of the season with each episode crossing over 10 million views on average. The drama had its shortcomings but the massive viewership was there and the finale of Ishq Murshid was screened in cinemas. What made it such a big hit was the superb acting of Bilal Abbas Khan as Shahmeer Sikandar/Fazal Bakhsh and the chemistry between Bilal and Durefishan Saleem.
Many fans wanted to see Bilal and Dure together in real life as well as both the superstars are single right now and seeing their chemistry at the premiere pushed the fantasies further. Marina Khan, the ace director and actress also had some similar thoughts regarding the sparks between Durefishan Saleem and Bilal Abbas Khan in Ishq Murshid.
In an interview while she talked about chemistry between artists on television, she gave an example of Tere Bin where the two actors are thorough about their work and it showed on television. She did not like that drama and then gave an example of Bilal and Durefishan. She said that the sparks make her feel that there might be more going on there. She added that she does not know anything personally and she is just going with the vibe. Marina Khan is Durefishan’s close friend from the industry and gave her the major break in Pardes.
