Marriyum Aurangzeb is among the most famous female politicians of Pakistan. She is a representative of PMLN and she has served in several high positions since the start of her career in politics. She is amongst politicians who are very vocal and opinionated and she is often seen defending the government’s policies and sharing their point of view on different news channels.
Marriyum Aurangzeb was a guest on Ahmed Ali Butt’s podcast and addressed several topics. She also shared one compromise she feels she should not have made in her life. Though politics in Pakistan is all about compromises and politicians go through a lot, this one compromise is what Marriyum Aurangzeb still remembers. She regrets it and surprisingly it is connected to an Indian film Dangal.
Marriyum Auragzeb shared that in 2016 she was serving as the Information Minister. She had just taken charge when she was asked to ban the Indian film Dangal starring Aamir Khan. She banned the film as suggested by the Censor Board at that time. She watched that film after 1.5 years and she feels she made the wrong decision. She still carries that weight on her shoulders.
