Maulana Tariq Jamil is a renowned Pakistani religious scholar who is admired by followers of various Islamic schools of thought (fiqhs). He is primarily known for his sermons focusing on kindness, maintaining balanced relationships, and Islamic values. He also continues to inspire people from various professions, including showbiz, digital media, business, and politics. Maulana Tariq Jamil shared a cordial relationship with Junaid Jamshed and played an important role in his religious transformation.

Recently, during Dr. Affan Qaiser’s podcast, Maulana Tariq Jamil discussed Junaid Jamshed’s remarkable transformation in detail.

Maulana Tariq Jamil said, “Junaid Jamshed was a top star in 1997—the handsome, tall, successful, top-notch singer. No one in Pakistan had come like him. I met him through someone, and during our ten-minute meeting, he cut me off in the middle and asked me a question. He said, ‘I have the glamour that every Pakistani dreams of, but my heart is empty. I feel I am a boat with no destination.’ These were the words of a man who had achieved all the worldly success. Allah created means for him, and he became religious. Allah gave him martyrdom, money, and whatnot. He used to say that what Allah gave him after becoming religious was something he had never experienced during his singing career. See, Allah blessed him with martyrdom.”

Maulana Tariq Jamil further recalled, “I gave him an example much earlier that you are giving medicine to the wrong wound. You are searching for peace in glamour, but you will find peace in Allah. So, for the first time, he went for Tabligh in 2002.”

He added that Junaid Jamshed experienced immense peace during his first Tabligh trip. Maulana also added, “This generation does not know what true peace is”. Here is the link to the video:
