Mawra Hocane shines as Laila in Jama Taqseem. The drama shows the bitter realities of the joint family system and everyone has a story which the characters are living on-screen. Every character in the drama is close to reality and everyone can see themselves in some character. Mawra spoke about the show in her latest interview with Mahwash Ajaz and she had a lot to reveal.
Mawra Hocane shared that she has also learnt from Laila. She said that she learnt how you can disagree with people and draw boundaries while at the same time remain respectful. She learnt how one cannot become extremely emotional and put forth their point while being understanding. She added that as Mawra she might have overreacted when Laila was asked to change her outfit but Laila took it in stride easily.

Mawra Hocane shared that her own real life helped her channel her character in Jama Taqseem. She started the shoot ten days after her marriage. She was able to channel her experience as a newly wed wife and daughter-in-law. Yes, her experiences are not the same but she understood Laila’s feelings.

She revealed how a girl came up to her and she looked so emotional. She was a single child who was engaged to a guy whose family was like Qais’s. Her mother asked her to watch Jama Taqseem to understand what she was getting into. Watching it helped her make a decision and she called off that engagement.
