The drama is directed by Mehreen Jabbar, written by Sanam Mehdi Zaryab, and produced by Six Sigma Plus. It has also drawn criticism from renowned writer Dr. Muhammad Younis Butt, who recently criticized both the director and the actors.
Recently, Dr. Bahu director Mehreen Jabbar appeared on Rise & Shine, hosted by Nadia Khan and Zohaib Hassan. During the show, she responded to Dr. Younis Butt’s criticism of Dr. Bahu.
Responding to the hosts’ question about Dr. Younis Butt’s remarks—where he said Kubra Khan’s crying scenes felt repetitive, the drama had been unnecessarily stretched, and Mehreen Jabbar’s direction made a fast-paced story feel sluggish—Mehreen Jabbar said, “I won’t say anything to this criticism. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and it is not my personality to comment on any such opinion. I have no interest in reacting to such criticism. Critics and audiences have the right to express their views, and that is what freedom of speech and freedom of thought are all about. As a drama maker, it is impossible to create a project that pleases everyone. I believe it is best to accept differing opinions and move on.” Watch here:
