Dhurandhar is a Bollywood film starring Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, R Madhvan and Sanjay Dutt. The film has depicted a fictional “Lyari”. The Indian spy comes and for some reason clears the gangs of Karachi and they also fictionalize it to relate it to domestic problems of India. As usual Pakistanis knew how the film will be about demonizing Pakistan but people from Lyari have been trolling how fictional they made the place look.
Now, Pakistan is coming out with their response to the film in the form of “Mera Layari”. The film marks the cinematic debut of Dananeer Mobeen. Samiya Mumtaz is also playing a pivotal charater. The movie was announced some time back and it will show the sports culture of Lyari. It was earlier called “Behnaz” but now it has been renamed to “Mera Layari” and the Sindh Government has also backed the project.
Sindh Government Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has taken to X and shared that Dhurandhar was a propaganda against Layari and through the film, Mera Layari, we will show the true face of the town which is peace, prosperity and pride. He added that Lyari is about culture and not about violence.
The internet is reacting to the announcement. One user wrote, “So excited for it.” Another added, “Just don’t make a three hour film. Make it an hour long at most.” One said, “This is the answer to the movie and we should answer them internationally.” Here is the reaction:
