Mera Lyari is a new Pakistani film which marks Dananeer Mobeen’s cinematic debut. The movie is produced by Dananeer’s co-star Ayesha Omer with Abu Aleeha in the director’s chair. The film is a sports drama, high on emotions with the cast members giving their best. Trinette Lucas, Nayyer Ejaz, Samiya Mumtaz and Adnan Shah Tipu are also part of this film.
Dhurandhar was a Bollywood movie based on gang wars in Lyari which broke records in India when it released earlier this year. With some real elements woven in, Dhurandhar was high on fiction and made Pakistan’s national issue into a high-profile spy thriller. The propaganda was rampant but it helped the lead star Ranveer Singh revive his career. Mera Lyari was termed as an answer to that propaganda. The movie was supposed to show the real face of Lyari. People are now sharing their opinions on the movie and whether is it a hit or a miss.
Influencer Wajiha Jawaid watched the movie and she is disappointed. She could not see how this film is an answer to Dhurandhar. She felt the story was weak, though performances were okay:
