Mukarram Kaleem is a renowned Pakistani television actor and host who began his career as an assistant director with Haissam Hussain. He also appeared in popular dramas such as Sadqay Tumhare and Aun Zara. Later, he transitioned to hosting and started doing crime reporting shows on prominent news channels. A few years ago, Mukarram Kaleem became one of the most-watched Pakistani hosts after he launched a criticism show titled Kya Drama Hai. Initially, the show’s hardcore criticism and controversial statements about actors and dramas went viral, making it a widely talked-about program.

Recently, Mukarram Kaleem appeared on Ahmed Ali Butt’s podcast Excuse Me. During the podcast, he revealed which actresses he initially wanted as judges for Kya Drama Hai.

Talking about it, Mukarram Kaleem said, “I came up with the idea for a show like Kya Drama Hai because of Nadia Jamil. Once, when we discussed Raqeeb Se while she was unwell, we analyzed the drama in great detail from all angles. We spent hours on it. Nadia remarked on how detailed our discussion was, unlike normal reviews which are quite basic. She suggested that we should create such detailed reviews, and I then floated the idea to the channel. I initially wanted to start the show with Nadia, but she was in Lahore while we were based in Karachi. She was always my first choice, and she is always welcome.”
He further added, “My first choice was Bushra Ansari. When I presented the concept to the CEO, he accepted the idea. He trusted it, and I also wanted a break from crime shows. Bushra Aapa was my first choice, but she was traveling back and forth, so it didn’t work out. I also wanted Faysal Quraishi, Atiqa Odho, and Rubina Ashraf, and they became part of the first season. That’s how it all started.”
