Naeema Butt is ruling the screens right now with her strong portrayal as Rubab in the blockbuster drama Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum. Naeema Butt has done theatre, films and television and she is now getting a lot of love for her role. She is also a very intelligent artist and has strong opinions thanks to her experience in interactive theatre and working with victims of abuse.
She was a guest on Something Haute and spoke about her interest in art and how she has reached television after exploring several avenues. She lives between Pakistan and New York City and she is picking up projects that make sense to her and will become a legacy for her work.
She revealed during the intreview how colourism exists in the industry. A fellow actor in the very beginning advised her to colour her whole body with makeup foundation to look white as only white girls get lead roles in Pakistani dramas. It was shocking for her to hear but then that person showed her pictures of actresses who are doing this and painted themselves from head to toe. She does not care about such practices and she is comfortable in her own skin.
