Nasir Adeeb is among the very few writers in Pakistani entertainment whose work has been celebrated for years. He has been writing for 5 generations now and his fan following has only multiplied. He is also known for speaking about the old Lollywood and he has given newer audience an insight into those times. He was a guest on Sheikh Da Podcast and shared some unknown facts about writing, actors and films.

Charas is an intoxicating substance, a type of drug that changes your brain’s working. This is commonly available in the South Asian region and Nasir Adeeb was asked about its abundant alleged use by writers and how it helps with the writing process. Nasir sahab was candid and shared what he knows about its use in the writing industry.

Nasir Adeeb revealed that charas does help in writing as it helps with your focus. It centralizes your mind and you can then focus solely on the subject that you are writing about. That is how it is effective in the writing process. He added that charas is not drugs but “faqeeri dhuwan”. One should only smoke charas if their brain has been blocked.

He, though, has another way which is even more affective and he has been using it for 6 decades now. He recites, “Rabbi Sharah Li Sadri Wa Yassir Li Amri”, the dua before writing and it has always helped him. He advised other writers to use it as well:
