Omair Rana is a versatile Pakistani actor, best known for his excellent portrayal of negative characters. He began his showbiz career as a theatre actor and director. His notable dramas include Piya Bedardi, Ullu Baraey Farokht Nahi, Pyar Ke Sadqay, Zan Mureed, Dil Na Umeed To Nahi, Sang-e-Mar Mar, Hum Kahan Ke Sachay Thay, Sang-e-Mah, and Ishq Murshid. In Ishq Murshid and Pyar Ke Sadqay, he played the father of Bilal Abbas Khan, and fans loved him in both roles. Despite his relatively young age, Omair Rana has portrayed elderly characters with great perfection.
Recently, Omair Rana appeared on FHM’s podcast, hosted by Adnan Faisal. In the podcast, he opened up about playing the roles of a father and grandfather at a young age.
Speaking about it, Omair Rana said, “Once, I met a fan at PC who had a picture with me. He asked how I agreed to play Bilal Abbas Khan’s father, saying that I could at most portray his elder brother on screen. I was speechless. Likewise, there was a drama, which I won’t name, where I was playing the role of Layla Wasti’s husband and we had a mature daughter. In one scene, she was rushing our daughter to the hospital in worry, and I was coming from the office. I asked what had happened, and she said that I was soon becoming a grandfather. I laughed out loud — my laughter in that scene is genuine because I was literally trying to digest that situation where I was playing a Nana.” Watch here:
