Ramadan transmissions are going on in full swing and we get to see different segments on television for the Holy month. PTV also has their own Ramadan transmission and this year we got to see Ahsan Khan and Rabia Anam hosting it. Ramadan 2024 is about to end and as always Muslims all over the world celebrated this Holy month with zeal and enthusiasm. But this year’s Ramadan is not like it used to be in the previous years. The misery, pain and injustice being meted out to the Muslims all over the world is unparalleled. For instance, the people in our own country cannot buy basic staple food. Inflation has made people commit suicide in many cities while many other families who used to help others previously need help themselves. The middle class of Pakistan has shrunk to dangerous levels and many people cannot afford to pay their bills or afford a good iftar. In addition, our men, women and children in Gaza are being massacred. They are eating grass and living under the sun. They have been mutilated by the Israeli terrorists and many could not even get burials.

In such conditions, we get to see many of our famous people sharing pictures and videos from their lavish Iftar and Suhoor celebrations as well as the game nights which are now hosted nearly everyday. Though there is nothing wrong with celebrating within your own means but posting this stuff this year is simply insensitive.
