Ahmed Ali Akbar’s popularity soared after the airing of his blockbuster drama serial “Parizaad” on Hum TV in July 2021.

Recently, Ahmed Ali Akbar appeared on Amna Isani’s YouTube channel, Something Haute. During his interview with Amna Isani, he revealed previously unheard details about the iconic drama serial “Parizaad.” He disclosed that initially, he wasn’t happy with being offered this dark skinned guy’s character.

Talking about it, Ahmed Ali Akbar said, “In the beginning, I read two episodes of Parizaad and thought, ‘What are you giving me in 2020?’ I mean, the character’s description suggested a dark-skinned guy with acne marks on his face. After reading the birth scene of Parizaad, I felt it should go to someone who looks like the character. A close friend, who is an AD, urged me to read the complete script. It was after the fifteenth episode that I shed tears for him. Before that, I couldn’t understand the character. After that moment, I connected with Parizaad’s character. I found similarities with him, but I wasn’t comfortable with the appearance part. I even suggested three actors to them, two were from theatre, but my suggestions weren’t considered because they wanted to sell their drama. They had other options from the industry, like me, so I agreed, knowing it would go to someone similar. I suggested various looks to them but then I realized that Parizaad’s issues were more internalized; yes, society mistreated him for his looks, but his core issues were internalized which were becoming a part of his personality.
