Recently, Humayun Saeed appeared in Geo TV’s podcast, hosted by Mubashir Hashmi. In the podcast, Humayun Saeed talked about the selection process of The Crown, nervousness before kissing scene and the amount he earned from The Crown.

Talking about selection, he said, “I called my friend Nadir who is a director and he shot my audition. It was a romantic scene. I was sick with COVID. He was wearing a mask and recorded me. They said, ‘Well done, you did a great job’ then they sent me another scene. This procedure was happening with a gap of two days, they approved the second audition too. Then they gave me another one with the leading lady who played Diana. We had the audition on Zoom they liked it too, even after that I was among the top two, after which I was disappointed and I told them not to phone me unless I’m given the role. It was complete silence for twenty days after that I received a call and they said, ‘Congratulations’.
He further added, “I was never interested in working in the West. I always want to work in Pakistan but I really wanted to do this one, because in The Crown, I was representing a Pakistani. I was offered another role in a Netflix series but I wasn’t concerned about that, I didn’t even ask about that selection, but for The Crown was important for me. Our people were also very happy that a Pakistani role was given to the same nationality’s actor for the first time, although it was a short character but it was very important.” Here is the link to the video:
Talking about the kissing scene, Humayun Saeed said, “Honestly, I was nervous due to performing a kissing scene and I told the reality about public reaction to my co-actor after which she also got surprised and worried. I told her that these scenes don’t happen in our dramas and we even talk with our wives (in the dramas) within a distance. She made me comfortable and told me that our producer selected me soon after watching my picture.” Here is the link to the video:
