Eid-ul-Azha is one of the most celebrated Muslim events, observed during the holy month of Zil Hajj. It arrives approximately two months and ten days post Eid-ul-Fitr. Muslims observe it on the 10th of Zil Hajj, following the completion of Hajj—the major Islamic pilgrimage that is a mandatory act of worship for physically fit and financially capable Muslims. On this Eid, Muslims perform the ritual of sacrificing animals in the name of Allah and distribute the meat among the needy, as well as family and friends. In Pakistan, a large number of people take part in these animal sacrifices.
