Dhurandhar marks the comeback of Ranveer Singh to Bollywood’s big screens after the star gave a string of flops. Ranveer Singh and his wife, superstar Deepika Padukone have always received a lot of love in Pakistan as well. Ranveer, however, chose an anti-Pakistan film to save his dwindling stardom. The film is out now and it seems like the Karachi and the Baloch community shown in the film are not from Pakistan but from Mars.

Ranveer Singh is playing a spy in Dhurandhar who wiped out the gangs from Karachi’s Lyari and the film has also added some characters inspired by original people from the Lyari gang war. Rahman Dacait played by Akshay Khanna is one such character who is gaining attention for his portrayal. However, the Arabification of Balochs is also mind boggling. Yes, the film was going to be completely against Pakistan, but showing another planet and naming it Pakistan has people scratch their heads.

This is what Indians think Balochs look like:
British-Pakistani host and anchor Haroon Rashid who has always been an impartial film critic and a lover of arts and entertainment had a great response to the “type” of Karachi they showed in Dhurandhar. He showed the difference between Dhurandhar’s Karachi and the real Karachi he has been to:
The internet is also criticizing how unrealistic this film was as far as showing the reality of streets. One user wrote, “I have been living in Karachi for 30 years but I never said Adaab.” Another added, “They are so obsessed. Our story, our city, our police officer and our gangsters. Wah Shampy Wah!”. One said, “This shows that even after living with Muslims for hundreds of years, these people still do not understand the difference in our cultures.” Here is the reaction:
