Pervez Musharraf was a very popular Pakistani general and politician who served as the tenth president of Pakistan from 2001 to 2008. Before entering politics, he was a four-star general and Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff. He was the leading war strategist in the Kargil infiltration that brought India and Pakistan to the brink of war in 1999. Pervez Musharraf married Sehba Musharraf and was a proud father of two talented children, Bilal Musharraf and Ayla Musharraf, who are quite successful in their respective fields.
Bilal Musharraf is an IT expert who recently appeared on Nadir Ali’s podcast, where he talked about his relationship with his father and his father’s last days.
Talking about it, Bilal Musharraf said, “Sometimes, a father and son share a tough relationship, and you end up criticizing each other for their best interests. Especially among us, the Urdu-speaking community, we tend to treat each other harshly in order to correct each other. So! I was very harsh with my father. I felt it was my responsibility to point out the criticism or hearsay about him, whether it was happening to him or because of him. I remember saying him, during his last days, ‘I have been very harsh with you, so I seek forgiveness for my attitude with you.” To which, he responded, “It’s okay, don’t worry — forget about it.” Although I knew he used to feel hurt because of my behavior, he forgave me — and I have deep respect for my father.” Here is the link to the video:
