Qari Abdul Basit is a big name in the world of Quranic recitation and many people copied his beautiful style till today. Qari Sadaqat revealed that he has been a disciple of the great reciter. He met him in the USA first and then he was invited to Egypt. He lived in Egypt for three years and that is when Qari Abdul Basit lost his eye during an accident. Qari Sadaqat took his medical records to John Hopkins hospital where he eventually got treated and his eye was saved.
Qari Sadaqat also shared that Qari Abdul Basit used to love the Corn Flakes in USA and till he lived, Qari Sadaqat kept sending him the Corn Flakes as he respected him so much.
